Ho Thau is a marvellously earthy, rich, yet pleasingly floral tippy black tea. It is harvested from wild tea trees that grow 2000m above sea level in mountainous North Vietnam (bordering with Yunnan). There is a hint of smoke to the nose, as the Red Dow tribal people who pick and craft the tea fire it using woks, in order to halt the oxidation process. The unique taste of this sublime brew wonderfully captures the landscape and culture from whence is originates.
