Oriental Beauty has a naturally fruity aroma and a lingering sweet yet nutty infusion, devoid of bitterness. It has always been pesticide free since the unique taste of this tea is released thanks to an enzymatic process occurring when its fed upon by a grasshopper specific to tea trees. This also commences the oxidisation process before the leaf has left the tea tree to be crafted into a delicious oolong. The scarcity of this tea on the market is partially to do with this special hit-or-miss process of production – no grasshopper, no Dongfang Meiren.
