Yerba Maté, or Maté Rancho, is a highly stimulating beverage, made from an alternative plant to tea found in South America, where it is extremely popular.
Especially popular in Argentina and Brazil, maté is known to have been Ché Guevara’s favourite drink. It was originally a beverage enjoyed primarily by the South American indigenous population. It has a strong, vegetal taste and an energising effect, helping the weary gaucho through long days in the sun-baked pampas.
