Gunpowder Green is so called as the dry tea leaves are rolled into tight balls that resemble gunpowder. According to legend, the name derives from an occasion when a British merchant ship was tricked into purchasing the tea instead of the explosive material. Well, in our opinion they got the best of the deal!
Gunpowder Green tea has a wonderfully strong, yet not overpowering aroma. Its taste is fresh, rounded and gently astringent, with rice-like undertones. It is known to be a very good remedy for stomach complaints.
Our Gunpowder is produced without the use of chemical pesticides or fertilizers.
Gunpowder is great consumed by itself, or as part of a blend. We use it together with mint tea in our Chai Nanna Arabic Mint tea.
