Tulsi occupies a special place in Hinduism as a sacred plant, associated with the Goddess Lakshmi which is intimately entwined with its special place in Ayurvedic medicine. According the Ayurveda is is effective in treating a wide range of disease, tulsi is recommended as a treatment for a range of conditions from anxiety to digestive problems and scorpion bites; hence its common epithet, “Queen of Herbs”.
